Ingredients

  • 1 (16 - ounce) package of extra - firm tofu

  • 1 head of broccoli, separated into florets

  • 3 tablespoons of sesame oil

  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. First, slice the tofu into thirds lengthwise. You'll get 3 equal slabs. Stack these slabs on top of each other and slice them lengthwise again to make 3 even columns. Then, slice across to create 5 even rows.

  2. Place the sliced tofu evenly on a plate lined with a couple of layers of paper towels. Put more paper towels on top of the tofu, and then place another plate on the stack. Press out as much water as you can and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.

  3. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  4. Put the pressed tofu and broccoli into a mixing bowl. Pour the sesame oil and soy sauce over them and gently toss to combine. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, ground ginger, and black pepper. Sprinkle this mixture over the tofu and broccoli. Toss until everything is evenly coated, and then arrange them in one layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip the ingredients and keep baking until they're crispy, which takes about 10 more minutes. Serve it warm.
